Alongside visiting all the tourist hotspots during your trip to NYC, I'd recommend checking out some of its hidden gems too!
Here are some of my favourites:
The Elevated Acre - this is a park in the sky and is the best place to escape the hustle and bustle of city life! It is located on Water Street and has breathtaking views of Brooklyn Bridge and the Hudson River. Also, the park has just added a full Beer Garden where you can try many different craft beers!
The Whispering Gallery - this gallery has been named one of the most romantic hidden gems in NYC. This is located in Grand Central Station and the secretive walls allow sounds to travel across the domed ceiling. Therefore, when two people stand at diagonal arches, they can actually hear each other’s whispers. Experts have said that this occurs because the whisperer’s voice trails the curve of the domed ceiling.
Old City Hall Subway Station - this subway station was closed in the early 20th century and is widely regarded as one of the prettiest subway stations in NYC. To see this hidden gem, take the 6 train heading downtown and admire the view from your subway seat.
