Here are some of my top tips for staying safe in the French capital...
Avoid walking alone at night - this rule applies to anywhere in the world. I would recommend avoiding walking by yourself at night, especially as a female. If you do have to walk alone by yourself, stick to the busy roads as Paris is generally very well lit at night and there are often many people around into the early hours of the morning due to the lifestyle and typical routine of both locals and tourists in Paris.
Be aware of pickpockets - this is something I'm sure you've all heard when discussing a trip to Paris. Yes, it is true that the main tourist sites such as the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre are notorious for pickpockets. My main advice would be to keep your belongings close and don't put any valuable items in areas where they could be easily taken (such as putting your phone in your back pocket)
Avoid carrying large sums of money/pay by bank card - it is recommended to not carry large sums of money whilst walking around Paris - this only increases your risk of being a pickpocket target. Instead, either carry a small amount of cash or use your bank card to make payments.
